Vox culture editor Todd VanDerWerff gives a critical examination of the use of color in the Netflix original series The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. The quirky show makes use of color to distinguish between the heightened world of its main characters and the drab, less colorful world of those characters on the show trying to oppress them.
Color is just one aspect that sets Kimmy Schmidt apart from other shows. It also features an incredibly catchy theme song by The Gregory Brothers.
