Artist Creates Paintings out of Videos Stills from CCTV Cameras
Artist William Betts creates paintings out of video stills from closed-circuit cameras. To make the paintings, Betts processes the still images with custom software, sending the data to a CNC machine that paints the images with tiny dots of paint. So far he has created two series based on the process: “CCTV” includes imagery from surveillance cameras, and a traffic camera series, “Texas DOT Traffic Cameras.” For more on Betts and his work see this article & video by The Creators Project.
