Absolut Vodka Co-Opts Pillow Fight In New Commercial

Absolut Vodka has co-opted the various global pillow fight events in their new ad “Absolut Protest”, produced in New York by TBWA \ Chiat \ Day, MJZ and The Mill. The commercial features a massive pillow fight between police and protesters.

It’s actually a really great commercial and they have now set the bar for future pillow fights. I expect to see repelling pillow fighters, pillow catapults and pillows dropped from airplanes the next time around. Here’s a high resolution version of the ad.

Here’s more info from The Mill on how the ad was produced.

In January the CBS televsion show CSI:NY “borrowed” the idea of an ubrban Idiotarod from the Carts of Brooklyn Racing Association and last year Bacardi ripped-off The Cacophony Society’s Breakers To Bay Salmon event for one of their commercials. Previously, The Chicago Urban Devils Golf Enthusiasts’ League were “NOT loving it” when McDonald’s co-opted their urban golf event for an ad campaign.
