The main purpose for our rainy day visit to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery was to pay tribute to Johnny Ramone (born John Cummings), guitarist for The Ramones, whose ashes were laid to rest there in January, 2005. His gravesite is complete with a monument and statue of the late punk rock musician. Quotes from his friends are eched on the side of the tomb, including Eddie Vedder, Rob Zombie, Lisa Marie Presley, Vincent Gallo, John Frusciante and his wife Linda Ramone.

As fate would have it, we visited Johnny’s grave on the day Blondie would take the stage for their final performance at CBGB (which closed their door two days later) and during their set, Deborah Harry sang The Ramone’s song “I Want To Be Your Boyfriend”.
