‘7x6x2’, An Understated Sci-Fi Short Directed by Comic Book Artist Paul Pope

7x6x2

“7x6x2” is a short sci-fi film written and co-directed by Batman: Year 100 cartoonist Paul Pope for Tribeca Digital Studios about a robot repairman sent to a hostile planet. The film, which was shot in 2012 on an early version of the Sony F55 4K camera, is based on Pope’s unreleased graphic novella of the same name. The artist discussed the creation process in an interview with Tribeca.

We tried to look at the film as the last ten minutes of a science fiction movie you’ve never seen.

While this is his first directing gig, Pope has already been involved in a number of film projects, including the upcoming Battling Boy, based on his recent young adult graphic novel for First Second.
