Superheroes: A Never-Ending Battle, PBS Documentary Examines the History of the Comic Book Industry

Superheroes: A Never-Ending Battle is a three-part documentary by PBS that examines the history of the comic book industry. The documentary is hosted and narrated by Liev Schreiber, directed by Michael Kantor and co-written by Michael and Laurence Maslon. Michael and Laurence also authored Superheroes!: Capes, Cowls, and the Creation of Comic Book Culture, a companion book to the documentary. Superheroes: A Never-Ending Battle will begin airing on PBS Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 8 PM. The DVD and Blu-ray are available to purchase on Amazon.

‘Superheroes: A Never-Ending Battle’ is the first documentary to examine the dawn of the comic book genre and its powerful legacy, as well as the evolution of the characters who leapt from the pages over the last 75 years and their ongoing worldwide cultural impact. heroes-banner1.jpg

Among the notable on-camera talents in the film are Stan Lee, Adam West, Lynda Carter, Pulitzer Prize winners Michael Chabon and Jules Feiffer, and interviews with the late greats Joe Simon (co-creator of Captain America) and Jerry Robinson (who helped create the Joker).
