Mark Growden Plays The Handlebars

A few days ago I had the privilege of performing at Obama-Rama, an Obama fundraiser at the Rickshaw Stop. The event featured numerous talented musicians and oddballs, but one of the night’s highlights was catching Mark Growden’s haunting set. Mark, a Laughing Squid friend and Monster of the Accordion, opened his set by playing an improvised song on a an ordinary pair of bicycle handlebars. The eerie sounds the instrument made were versatile and expressive. In the video above, Mark explains how he produces such complex sounds from a simple instrument.

Wow, You BETCHA Mark's Handlebar “Flute” Music, beats ALASKA Gov. SARAH PALIN's stupid FLUTE playing, hands down!

Personally I LOVE good Flute Music, like Jethro Tull's for example, but “DOGGONE IT!”, Gov. Sarah Palin playing the Flute, makes me want to STRANGLE both her stupid FLUTE and HER too! Ha

I would love to see an OBAMA “You Tube” Campaign Ad with Mark playing his Handlebars, juxtaposed to Sarah Palin's Beauty Pageant Flue-playing footage. Would be pretty FUNNY, I betcha!

(God, if McCain & Palin win, I'm moving to AUSTRALIA or CANADA!)
