Lawyer Parents Make Daughter Sign a Tooth Fairy Affidavit After She Lost a Tooth

Tooth Fairy Affidavit

When Emily Winter was growing up in Chicago back in 1989 she had a typical childhood experience—she lost a tooth. However her parents, both lawyers, responded in a most atypical way. Her mother drafted an affidavit for her to sign, which outlined the circumstances of her “lost or missing tooth,” and induced the tooth fairy to “compensate Affiant in the usual and customary manner.” After Winter signed, her father notarized the document. Perhaps not surprisingly, Winter is now a comedian.
