How To Take Pictures of Fireworks

Just in time for Independence Day, National Geographic has shared some pro tips on how to take good pictures of fireworks. Amongst the many helpful tips and tricks, they suggest using a “sturdy tripod and a shutter release cord,” choosing a “vantage point upwind from the blowing smoke,” and using your camera in manual mode so you can “control the exposure and aperture yourself.”
