‘Cujo’ and ‘The Hobbit’ Flip Animations Drawn Onto the Pages of Stephen King and J.R.R. Tolkien’s Actual Books

Artist Anton Hecht has shared videos featuring Cujo and The Hobbit flip animations that were drawn onto the pages of the actual books by Stephen King and J.R.R. Tolkien. The Cujo animation was drawn by Thom Samson and The Hobbit by Mark Hughes. These are merely a couple of the creative pieces that will be shown at the Undercover Festival of Flipbooks, an “animation event within the covers of library books” that is currently taking place at the UK-based Darlington Library until November 30th, 2015.

It will be available in the Library to view from the 23rd of October till the 30th November 2015. In various books in the library, on the pages and the margins will be specially commissioned and drawn flip animations by a number of artists. Visitors are given a list of names of the books, and then search them out in normal library order on the shelves, find them, and flip them… This work is supported by Arts Council England and Creative Darlington.
