Composite Image Shows a Whole Bigfin Squid and Its Long Appendages

Bigfin Squid

Using video captured by a Shell Oil Company remotely operated vehicle in 2007, someone has created a composite image of a Magnapinna, or bigfin squid. The image really shows off the squid’s long, elbow-like appendages.

Here’s the original video filmed at the Perdido oil drilling site in the Gulf of Mexico:
