Google has revealed that their Android operating system is coming to wearable technology as part of their newly announced Android Wear project. The first kind of wearable device to receive Android will be patterned after watches. According to Google’s blog post on Android Wear, the actual hardware and Android Wear SDK will be coming later this year.
Users can interact with this technology by saying phrases like “Ok Google” and then requesting things like information on sports scores or a taxi. Traditional Android apps will work normally as far as push notifications go, but developers can also tailor their apps specifically for Android Wear.
