In “World’s Slowest Colour Copier” by Toronto art collective Nuvango, illustrator Dave Murray discusses the slow and laborious — but extremely aesthetically rewarding — work of screen printing posters.
With screen printing, sometime people ask me where I got a printer that can print something like that. I’d say, “No, I actually physically pass color through a mesh screen onto paper. I do this fifty-odd times per color and then let it dry and switch to the next one.” I’m like the world’s slowest color copier.
