Winston Smith and the Art of Dead Kennedys on The Art of Punk

The latest episode of “The Art of Punk” looks at the art of the influential San Francisco hardcore punk band Dead Kennedys. The short documentary focuses on the contributions of artist Winston Smith, who created the band’s logo as well as the collage art that graced many of the band’s album covers, often in close collaboration with Dead Kennedys front man Jello Biafra. The video was created by Bryan Ray Turcotte and Bo Bushnell for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.
