Welcome Rebecca Escamilla, New Contributing Editor at Laughing Squid

Please give a big ten tentacle welcome to Rebecca Escamilla, our new Contributing Editor here on the Laughing Squid blog. Previously Rebecca worked for us on the web hosting side of Laughing Squid from 2008-2013. Now she’s returning to help out on the blog side.

We’re excited to have her back onboard! And now, I turn you over to Rebecca…

Dear readers,

I’m Rebecca Escamilla, the shiny new contributing editor at Laughing Squid. My cephalopodic story began in 2008 when my husband Frank and I joined Laughing Squid Web Hosting. After a lengthy sabbatical to focus on my family, I had the serendipitous opportunity to return on the blog side in a completely different role, so I snatched it right up.

When I’m not rearranging punctuation or herding my small brigade of children, I like to knit, sew, tinker in my garden plot, and hike in the forests of beautiful Oregon. Volunteering in my community and donating blood regularly are important to me. I also enjoy experimenting with canning recipes and took home a blue ribbon for jam at the Oregon State Fair last summer.

If you’re in Portland, Oregon, you may find me wandering aimlessly at Powell’s Books, pushing a stroller at the park, or hanging out in the children’s section of the library.

And like any good Portlander, I love my cats.
