UCSC’s Trainwreck Games Wins $10,000 Prize for Creating the Best Social Video Game at E3

AARP and Entertainment Software Association (ESA) hosted the first ever Social Connection GameJam at E3 in Los Angeles earlier this year. 28 teams of college students competed to create a video game that helped make strong social connections for gamers over the age of 50. After the judges (Sid Meier, Robin Hunicke, Freddie Wong, John Ratzenberger, and Kamili Wilson) discussed which game had it all, team Trainwreck Games from the University of California, Santa Cruz came out victorious and took the cash prize of $10,000 for their “email based, escape the room adventure game called Letters of Mystery.”
