Trying to Absorb Mercury With a Sponge

Taofledermaus tests whether or not mercury can be absorbed with a foam sponge in this fascinating video. Small pools of mercury seem to form in the sponge’s holes, but it doesn’t look like the liquid metal is actually absorbed in the same manner as water.
