The Secret Speakeasy Lounge Rooms at Pixar

Animator Andrew Gordon narrates this animated short that tells the story of how he found a secret room through an air conditioning vent inside his office at Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, California. Seeing an opportunity, Gordon began decorating the room and soon it became the Love Lounge, a secret speakeasy room. All kinds of famous people have visited the room including Steve Jobs, Randy Newman, Michael Eisner and many more. Gordon then moved offices and created the Lucky 7 Lounge, a similar room that has been outfitted with a sliding bookshelf door that can be opened via a button hidden under a bust of Shakespeare. The film was part of Studio Stories, a series of shorts included in the Toy Story DVD extras. We have posted two other shorts in the series: Pixar’s The Movie Vanishes, How Toy Story 2 Was Nearly Lost and A Look Inside Pixar’s Cereal Room.

Matthew Panzarino of The Next Web has more of the story, along with images, of Pixar’s Lucky 7 Lounge.
