Sculptural Maps Made out of Honeycomb From Beehives

Honeycomb Maps by Ren Ri

Chinese artist Ren Ri transformed honeycomb from beehives into maps in his 2008 sculpture series Yuansu I: The Origin of Geometry. The beeswax sculptures stem from Ri’s interest in beekeeping, which he began practicing in 2006. He has since created two more installments to the Yuansu series. His Yuansu sculptures are currently being exhibited at Pearl Lam Galleries Hong Kong through April 12, 2015.
