RentHop, An Apartment Hunting Startup That Uses Mathematical Algorithms to Find the Best Listings

RentHop Goes Nationwide

First launched in 2009, RentHop is an apartment listing startup that uses quality ratings — what they call a HopScore — to determine the where certain listings should be ranked in comparison to others. The HopScore consists of how accurate and complete the listing is, how long the listing has been on the site and how often it’s been clicked by users, and the performance of the listing’s manager on RentHop’s site. In this way, they hope to provide the absolute best apartment listings for a given criteria at the top of any search.

Though they traditionally have only listed New York, Boston, and Chicago, RentHop has now opened up nationwide in the United States.
