Periscope, A Twitter-Owned Live Streaming Video App With Real-Time Commenting

Periscope is a new app that live streams video to Twitter, while integrating real-time notifications and comments from the microblogging service. The app features video replays for up to 24 hours and private broadcasts for those streams only meant to be viewed by a select audience.

The startup, which was acquired by Twitter ahead of launch, arrives in the wake of other recently launched live broadcasting mobile apps such as Meerkat.
