MakerBot and America Makes have teamed up to bring 3D printers to public schools with a new project called MakerBot Academy. Each MakerBot Academy bundle contains a MakerBot Replicator 2, PLA plastic, and a protection plan, as well as access to the free Thingiverse community. Full-time public school teachers can request a bundle for their school on DonorsChoose.org, where anyone can donate to crowdfund the purchase.
