Maker Faire Detroit at The Henry Ford Museum

Maker Faire Detroit 2010

Make Magazine editor and publisher Dale Dougherty has just announced Maker Faire Detroit which will take place July 31-August 1, 2010 at The Henry Ford Museum.

I look at it as a wonderful opportunity to showcase the technical and creative talent of the region, which was once the most productive city in America. Detroit needs to retool and rethink its opportunities, and quite frankly, I find this an exciting opportunity to be part of. If the manufacturing skills and design prowess of Detroit can be married to the tools for communication and expression that the Internet provides, something big will come of it.

Here are some photos I shot at The Henry Ford Museum back in 2005. It’s an amazing museum, showcasing the history of all forms of transportation.

Maker Faire Bay Area takes place May 22nd and 23rd, 2010 at the San Mateo County Event Center and there will also be a Maker Faire NYC next year, which will take place September 25th & 26th at Flushing Meadow Corona Park in Queens.
