‘Jurassic World’ Super Bowl Ad Shows More of the Frightening New Dinosaur Indominus Rex

The new trailer for Jurassic World (previously) that aired during the recent Super Bowl shows more of the film’s frightening new dinosaur, the Indominus Rex, as well as some additional new footage. The film’s viral marketing site gives a detailed description of the beast.

At first glance, Indominous most closely resembles a T. Rex. But its distinctive head ornamentation and ultra-tough bony osteoderms can be trace from Theropods known as Abelisaurs. Indominus; horns have been placed about the eye orbit through genetic material hybridized from Carnotaurus, Majungasauruhs, Rugops and Giganotosaurus. Fearsome indeed.

The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 12, 2015 and stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.
