The Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, Rhode Island is holding its annual Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular from Thursday, October 4, 2012 through Saturday, November 3, 2012 and so far an impressive series of pop culture Halloween pumpkin carved designs / works of art have been displayed. According to Geeks Are Sexy, all proceeds from the event support the Roger Williams Park Zoo education and conservation efforts as well as Zoo improvements. Below is an informative video by John Reckner, founder of the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, where he talks a bit about how the pros create such amazing pumpkin art, including a few tips on how to do it yourself. To view more pumpkin art from the show, you can check out on the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular Flickr page.
Join your family and friends in this amazing experience: a night time display of 5,000 illuminated jack-o-lanterns all along our beautiful wetland trail. Well over 100 of the pumpkins are carved into veritable works of art, and presented in themed scenes with music.
