Impressive Tiny Robots Demonstrate Their Ability to Crawl and Climb Carrying 100 Times Their Own Weight

Tiny robots developed by mechanical engineers at Stanford University are seen in a video crawling and climbing walls while pulling more than 100 times their own weight. The robots adhere to walls with special grips inspired by the feet of geckos, and borrow their pattern or motion from inchworms.

The robots are being presented at the International Conference on Robotics and Automation in Seattle, Washington that will run May 26 to May 30, 2015.
