The BBC show Stargazing Live captured some beautiful footage of the March 20, 2015 total solar eclipse as it moved into totality, where the Moon’s shadow completely covers the Sun leaving a halo of the Sun’s corona around the edge. As hosts Professor Brian Cox, Dara O’Briain, and Liz Bonnin explain, total solar eclipses like this are unique to Earth because when they line up our moon and the Sun appear to be the exact same size in the sky.
