August Smart Lock is a battery-powered lock that fits over your existing deadbolt and allows you to lock or unlock your door using a smartphone app. Users can then program the August Smart Lock to auto-unlock when they approach the door with their smartphone, as well as give friends and family members virtual keys that are only good for a certain time period. The August Smart Lock also provides users with a time stamped log of everyone who’s entered and exited their home. The smart lock is expected to be available for purchase from August in late 2013.
