‘Antarctica: A Year On Ice’, A Documentary About Human Life in the Coldest Place on Earth

Antarctica: A Year On Ice is an upcoming documentary directed by filmmaker Anthony Powell that chronicles a year in the life of human settlements in the coldest place on the planet.

Documentary film crews usually only get to visit Antarctica during the few short months of summer. This film includes footage meticulously gathered over 10 years, including 9 winters, isolated from the rest of the world, in 24-hour darkness and mind-numbing cold for months at a time.

The film, which will be released in United States theaters on November 28, 2014, was funded in part via Kickstarter.
