Anatomy Box, Paper Art Children’s Book Guides Reader Through Human Anatomy

“Anatomy Box” by Italian artist Valentina Formisano is an unbound children’s book that guides the reader through human anatomy with a series of paper cut illustrations. This stop motion video shows the progression of the illustrations in the book.

An unbound book made with many colored sheets, paper cut and collage. Some parts are movable and the superimpositions are inspired on Bruno Munari’s books. All the sheets are located in a cardboard box with anatomical decorations on the top. The theme of the book is an anatomical travel through the human body that starts from an open mouth that eats something, and then down by the throat, to the stomach until the intestine and out again with another form. A travel to teach children what happens with our body.
