‘A Brief History of the American Shopping Mall’, A Look at the Oldest Indoor Shopping Mall in the United States

The PBS News Hour pays tribute to the American shopping malls with a visit to the Southdale Center in the Minneapolis suburb of Edina, Minnesota, the first indoor shopping mall built in the United States. Built in 1956, the mall quickly became a blueprint for subsequent shopping centers in the US and abroad.
