Aviation student Samm Sheperd built a remote control airplane around a centrifugal fan taken from an old electric heater. The engine doesn’t provide as much thrust as a traditional propeller, but as Sheperd demonstrates in the video, it’s more than enough to get his makeshift styrofoam plane into the air.
