‘Visions of America: Amériques’, A Los Angeles Philharmonic Performance Paired With Live Video Projection
In November 2014, the Los Angeles Philharmonic performed Amériques by Edgard Varèse against a vivid backdrop of live video in a multimedia performance entitled Visions of America: Amériques. Artist Refik Anadol created the visuals for the performance using custom software to map projections on the interior of the Frank Gehry-designed Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. The visuals responded both to the sounds of the orchestra and to the movements of conductor Esa-pekka Salonen. Anadol has posted stills from the performance on Flickr.
