‘Skittles’, An Installation of Inedible Smoothies Created From the Ingredients of Contemporary Lifestyles
“Skittles” is a wonderful installation by artist Josh Kline featuring a series of inedible “smoothies,” each variety representing a different contemporary lifestyle. The smoothies are arrayed in neat rows in an industrial refrigerator, and each variety includes a list of ingredients. For example, a red concoction reads: “williamsburg, credit card, american apparel, kale chips, kombucha, microbrew, quinoa, agave.” The installation is part of the outdoor exhibition “Archeo” at the High Line in New York City through March 2015.
