Record Store Day, An Annual Celebration of Independently Owned Record Stores
This Saturday, April 19th, record stores on six continents will be celebrating Record Store Day, an annual event honoring independently owned and operated music shops. Created in 2007 and kicked off the following year, the event is marketed by limited edition album releases and live in-store performances.
This is a day for the people who make up the world of the record store—the staff, the customers, and the artists—to come together and celebrate the unique culture of a record store and the special role these independently owned stores play in their communities.
You can locate a participating shop in your area by visiting the official Record Store Day site.
