Following SXSW via SplashCast and Twitter
There are a couple of interesting new ways to follow the action at SXSW Interactive this year. At breakfast, this morning at the always amazing Las Manitas Avenue Cafe, Marshall Kirkpatrick (who I finally met in person) showed me SplashCast, a great streaming media embedded application where you can create channels that can pull in audio, video, photos, text and RSS. Marshall and Alex Williams (they both work for SplashCast) have set up a special SplashCast channel for SXSW Interactive 2007.
Of course this year’s rockstar service at SXSW Interactive is Twitter, which is super active here with people posting updates on where they are and what they are doing. They even set up a special SXSW Twitter profile and you can track all the SXSW Twitter posts on the SXSW public timeline which will also show up on HD plasma displays in the hallways at the conference.
