Deadline reports that Syfy has ordered a pilot for a television adaptation of Terry Gilliam’s 1995 science fiction film 12 Monkeys. The 60-minute pilot was written by Terra Nova and Nikita writers Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett, and is expected to begin filming in November barring casting disagreements. The show will follow the same premise as the original film that starred Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt, and will tell the story of a time traveler sent back to prevent a deadly plague that will eventually destroy the human race, according to Deadline. No information about the show’s casting has been released.
