Nick Denton was in San Francisco last night hosting a launch party at Varnish Fine Art for Valleywag, his lastest addition to the Gawker empire (which includes popular blogs like Wonkette, Gizmodo and Fleshbot). Valleywag, a tech gossip blog covering the San Francisco Bay Area, just went live this morning, is being run by Nick Douglas (who previously wrote for the blog news/gossip website Blogebrity). Here are a few photos that I shot at the launch party.

Ooo, salaciously wonderful! I’ve always marveled that for the density and prolific nature of The Valley, there was no blog/source for locally-focused, Valley-related techy newsy rompy sorts of things. Looks like Gawker has pulled through – it’s going straight to my reader! Thanks, Scott.
