The People’s Skype, A Cell Phone Broadcasting and Voting System for Occupy Protesters

The People's Skype

The People’s Skype by Jonathan Baldwin is a cell phone-based broadcasting and voting system designed specifically for Occupy protest assemblies (demo video). A speaker calls The People’s Skype number and starts a one-way teleconference that fellow protesters can listen to on their own cell phones. Listeners can cast yes or no votes by dialing one or zero. The People’s Skype is a technological alternative to the human microphone or “people’s mic.”
