Roboy, An Advanced Tendon-Driven Humanoid Robot

Roboy is a tendon-driven humanoid Robot currently being constructed by engineers at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of the University of Zurich. Roboy is an advanced service bot being built in just 9 months with crowdsourced funds. Contributions are still being taken to help get Roboy completed for the March 2013 Robots on Tour event.

Instead of just copying the outward form of a human, my researchers copy the inner structures and mechanisms – bones, joints, muscles, and tendons – of humans to make it easier for me to interact with them. The told me that I will be approximately 1.20 cm tall.
