ReadAir is a really nice Google Reader desktop client for both Mac and Windows built on Adobe Air. Here’s more on ReadAir from dailyApps and Download Squad.

  1. I use NetNewsWire but this does look pretty good. It’s worth trying out.

  2. I wonder if they rebuilt the entire OSX interface style in Flash or not.

  3. Apparently ReadAir doesn’t support keyboard accelerators. This would be deal-breaker for me; I use Google Reader specifically because it’s easy to quickly burn through a lot of articles without using the mouse.

What I would recommend is, if people want to run Google Reader in its own instance, use Prism for Windows/Linux or Fluid for Mac OSX.

  4. I agree with J.Phil. no keyboard shortcuts = Epic Fail.

I also agree about the Prism comment. I’ve been running reader in Prism for a while now and it works just fine. There is also a UserStyles script out there to make reader look like a OSX app already too.
