POPE

Speaking of Shepard Fairey, in honor of Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to New York City, the magazine ANIMAL commissioned Michael Ian Weinfeld to create “POPE”, a parody of Shepard’s wildly popular Obama “HOPE” poster.

Is it just me or does it not look like the pope has blood in his hands in this one? I wonder how Pope Benedict’s visit to the US goes, with all the scandals on priests molesting minors in the country.

Auto Parts,

Its goes very well. Ask the 3 abuse victims that met w/ him & have told what happened in the meeting to CNN.

Actually, you should have left the H in instead of changing it to a P. He actually brings hope to multitudes, as opposed to a fruad like Sen. Obama.

This is the FIRST thing I thought when seeing the HOPE poster ! It conjures rhymes immediately for me and Pope is obvious.

I see it as a 4 way blotter. Not only I HOPE and POPE but also I think there should be:

DOPE (Gee who could that be)

NOPE (The Other Candidate)

Of course, COPE, ROPE, GROPE and TAUPE could all be interesting variations on this pun.

FALSE hope, maybe. I know he certainly strikes terror into my heart. And to think that he supposedly controls the actions of every Catholic in the world and that they actually BELIEVE he can talk to God…who's the fraud, here?
