Polka Floyd, A Pink Floyd Polka Band

Pink Polka

Polka Floyd is a band out of Toledo that does polka covers of Pink Floyd songs. They do an “Interstellar Overdrive/Bike” jam that’s beyond awesome.

UPDATE: Sammy Krall has a couple of great videos of Polka Floyd performing “Brain Damage, Eclipse” and “Another Brick in the Wall” at Mickey Finns Pub in Toledo.

Being from Toledo myself, I figured eventually something good would follow me out of there.

This band has “Northern Ohio” written all over it. Where else can you find people with a deep appreciation for classic rock AND polka? If they ever play anywhere near Kansas City, I’m there. The version of “Us and Them” on their website rocks big time. I can’t imagine how much fun it must be to see these guys play live.

I live in Toledo and everytime I see “Polka Floyd” in the paper I know where I am going that night. It is great music that I never would have expected. The only way to make that night better is if “Los Caballeros” are in the lineup as well…think J. Cash.

Another example of Pink Floyd’s classics performed in another genre is New Yorks excellent easy star all stars doing the “dub side of the moon”. Yes an excellent reggae version.
