Official Opening of The Burj Dubai (Burj Khalifa), The World’s Tallest Building

Kicking things off with a ceremony featuring an incredible display of fireworks, Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed has officially opened the Burj Dubai, the tallest building in the world (2,717 ft). It has been renamed Burj Khalifa in honor of the president of the United Arab Emirates. UAE bailed Dubai out of last year’s debt crisis.
