LIFX is a Wi-Fi-enabled LED light bulb that can be controlled from anywhere by a mobile device. The bulb can be turned on and off, set on a timer, dimmed, and its color can even be changed, all by a mobile app for iPhone or Android devices. These adjustments (and many more) can be made to one bulb at a time or to an entire house of bulbs all at once. Because it is an LED bulb, LIFX uses 1/10th the energy of an incandescent and will last up to 40,000 hours/25 years. LIFX inventor Phil Bosua is pre-selling the bulbs on Kickstarter.
