I think it’s actually a “warning” sound, right? It’s cute now, ’cause it’s just a kitten, but as it get’s older it’s just going to sound mean and curmudgeony.
It’s more than likely that this kitten is the spawn of basement cat.

Actually it probably is a warning, sweet though it sounds. Note the way the other kitty backs off. Arguably the most significant thing about this video is the way it illustrates how dumb we people are, we all go ‘Ah, ain’t it cute!’ when we unknowingly witness a nascent toothy-clawy feral giving a ‘feeding now, back right off’ signal. Looking around, I wonder what else we’re getting totally, utterly wrong… here kitty, here kitty…

Yea, you really shouldn’t pet cats while eating, it’s stressful for them.
