“Kind of Bloop” is an 8-bit tribute to jazz legend Miles Davis featuring covers by five chiptune musicians in honor of the 50th anniversary of the release of Kind of Blue.

What would the pioneers of jazz sound like on a Nintendo Entertainment System? Coltrane on a C-64? Mingus on Amiga? For years, I’ve wondered what “chiptune jazz” would sound like, but there are only a tiny handful of jazz covers ever made.

The album was produced by Andy Baio as a project on Kickstarter to raise money to pay the artists and song licenses. It is now available as a high quality digital download through Amazon for $5, which includes high-res cover art.
