In honor of John Wayne’s Birthday, the BYOBW crew is instigating a water balloon fight in Alamo Square on the Duke’s Birthday.

If you’re siding with the Mexican’s, wear blue shirts.

If you’re siding with the Texans, wear brown shirts.

Remember the event is BYOWB (Bring Your Own Water Baloon)

UPDATE 1: The San Francisco Citizen has a report from the event.

UPDATE 2: GETV has posted their video coverage of the water balloon fight.

No frozen water balloons allowed….

Why do I have the feeling that there is going to be WAY more blue shirts there?

Scott Beale June 9, 2008 at 11:55 pm

Blue shirts? Are you expecting Best Buy employees?

Are you expecting Best Buy employees?

Now THAT would be funny!

so there

Scott Beale June 10, 2008 at 4:49 pm

Irina, Patrick here in the comments wants to know if you’ll be wearing a blue shirt (no idea what that is all about).

Eddie Codel June 10, 2008 at 4:56 pm

I plan on wearing blue underwear, if I do at all.

How’s cleanup being done? Water balloons create a pretty big mess with the plastic.

Patrick June 11, 2008 at 8:39 am

The comment about the blue shirts was just a knee jerk comment really. I thought more people in San Francisco would want to represent Mexico than Texas, that’s all. And you could break out that sombrero that has been hiding in your garage for the last five years (except for those Cinqo de Mayo BBQs). Alas, I live too far away to make it to the event in my sombrero. *sigh* Sounds like a good time.

Have fun, y’all. Jason’s point about the clean-up is a good one. I hope the good participants will take care of the debris. I have a feeling most will…
