Internet Power! Vol. 1, A 1995 Video Explaining The Internet

Andy Baio has been collecting old internet related VHS tapes and recently he digitized volume 1 of “Internet Power!” from 1995, which attempts to explain the internet. I love how they have to use editing to speed things up between clicking on links. Here’s Andy’s full write-up, complete with analysis and screenshots.

Check out Yahoo!’s awesome home page. Man, this really makes the 1990’s feel old.

Great find!

Love the.. “The internet has been around since the 1960’s, but It was the development of the Mosaic browser in 1933…”

I just invented a steering wheel cover for the flying space car. Hopefully someone will build one of those someday so I can use it.

Wow, youtube on only 14.4, I wish. Very excellent find. I almost forgot how bad the Internet was back then compared to today. I shudder thinking of using AOL’s dialup again.
