Instagram has announced that the popular photo sharing app will now feature support for non-square portrait and landscape formatted photographs. This is a big change for the service which has only allowed square format images since its launch in 2010.
The update also includes widescreen video options and the ability to use the same filters for both photos and video. The new version is available in both the iTunes App Store and the Google Play Store.
